This procedure applies to cases where an employee, contractor, and / or visitor creates an emotionally oriented disturbance. We will request assistance from local police, either for purposes of arrest or stabilizing the situation. In all cases, it is important to obtain as much background information as possible. An immediate source for such information may be available from the Security office, the employee’s family, supervisor, or other.

In violent cases where an employee or visitor is an immediate threat physically to himself/herself or others, the following actions are taken:

• • Dial 911 and notify SCC and management immediately.
  • Isolate other employees from the individual until assistance arrives.
  • The SCC will notify the local Police Department.
  • Management will notify the employee’s family or visitor POC, if applicable.
