Explosion

Before an Incident

  • Familiarize yourself with Aerospace explosion procedures
  • Be aware of potential causes for explosion such as chemical accidents, bombs, or falling/crashing aircraft

During an Incident

  • Exit the area.
  • Call 911. Give your name, exact location, and nature of the emergency.
  • Remain calm.
  • Stay away from windows, mirrors, overhead fixtures, filing cabinets, bookcases, and electrical equipment.
  • If evacuation is ordered, exit the building to the designated assembly area.
  • Do not move seriously injured persons unless they are in obvious, immediate danger (of fire, building collapse, etc.).
  • Open doors carefully. Watch for falling objects.
  • Do not use elevators.
  • Do not operate electrical switches or mechanical equipment.
  • Do not use matches or lighters.

After an Incident

Inform your manager that you are safe and monitor for any communications from Aerospace or your team.
