Infection Control

Updated 7/9/25

Environmental Health and Safety recommends the following guidance when ill.

If You Are Experiencing Symptoms

  • We recommend staying home until your symptoms improve and you have been fever-free for at least 24 hours (without the use of fever-reducing medication).

If You Test Positive for COVID

  • California employees and residents*: Report your positive test to the Security Control Center at 310-336-6520 (El Segundo). You can also have Aerospace personnel submit a report on your behalf.

When to return to work

  • Symptomatic: If symptoms improve and you are fever free for at least 24 hours without the use of fever reducing medication.
  • Asymptomatic: It is recommended that you wear a mask for 5 days. While wearing a mask is not required, it is encouraged to help reduce spreading infection.

* Cal-OSHA will continue to require COVID reporting until February 3, 2026. Employees in all other states are no longer required to report when they test positive for COVID.
