Before a Pandemic
The World Health Organization (WHO) and other agencies like the Center for Disease Control (CDC) monitor cases of infection and will provide ample warning if they believe a pandemic may be immanent. Like most organizations, Aerospace made significant updates to pandemic procedures during the COVID-19 outbreak. We are now better equipped to respond to any warnings issued by health authorities.
During a Pandemic
A pandemic will likely be caused by the emergence of a new disease (or a new strain of an existing disease) for which there is little to no immunity in the human population. This causes serious illness to spread worldwide. The effects of pandemics can vary greatly depending on the severity of the disease, the methods and ease by which it spreads, and the resources that are available to a community. Vaccines to protect people against a pandemic may not be developed or readily available until many months after the outbreak.
*Remember to mask up and stay home if you are sick.

After a Pandemic
The end of a pandemic will most likely be due to a dramatic decrease in cases, not the eradication of the disease. Remain aware of the risk of infection as life transitions back to normal. If a vaccine is available, all who are eligible are encouraged to receive it and stay up to date with booster shots.
