Aerospace sends AeroElert notifications in the event of severe thunderstorms being forecasted. NOAA should also be monitored for proper planning purposes.

Lightning

If you see lightning and hear thunder within 30 seconds go indoors. Stay indoors for at least 30 minutes after hearing the last clap of thunder.

Hail

Broken car windows, damaged rooftops, and vehicle damage are common aftereffects of hailstorms.  Being caught outside in a hailstorm and unprotected can result in injuries.  If a hailstorm strikes the vicinity, employees and visitors will be advised to remain in their present location until the threat has subsided.
